Fire Damage Restoration in Melbourne

SERVPRO of Central Brevard has been hard at work performing fire restoration on a home in the Suntree area of Melbourne, Florida.  The fire, started by an electrical problem in a golf cart, caused severe damage but was largely contained to the garage and the laundry room.  Almost everything in these two areas, including a car, were burned or melted from the high heat and flames. Smoke however traveled throughout the home, leaving most areas covered in thick layers of soot.  The HVAC system was also severely contaminated.

Mitigating this damage required most of the home to be cleaned and deodorized from ceiling to floor. The homeowners’ contents were packed up and moved to our air-conditioned facility for thorough and detailed cleaning. As with most fires, we also had to deal with the water damage that occurs when firefighters are putting a fire out. Thankfully, this damage was relatively minimal in this case.

Other than the garage, which will require some repair, the home will be habitable as soon as the HVAC system has been cleaned and we run an ozone machine for a few days to complete the deodorization process.
