Rely on SERVPRO to Protect Your Cocoa Beach Business with Fast Water Removal
As Cocoa Beach business owners know, a commercial disaster can mean double the loss; sometimes, even more, of a home disaster. Even something as simple as a broken in-take pipe can result in not just physical damage, but the loss of income to the business. If doors remain closed, then invoices do not get paid, and paychecks do not get issued.
SERVPRO understands that commercial water damage to Cocoa Beach businesses is usually from clean water. That means there is no sewage or other contaminants in any standing water or water trapped in carpets, furniture, or walls. The goals of our technicians are to remove the water, dry the structural and other property, and reopen the doors to customers as quickly as possible.
In an office setting like an insurance agency, the first task is to get the water out. Our technicians start in most offices with extraction wands. These devices can remove standing water from floors and draw it out from soaked carpets. They draw out the water to prevent two specific problems: delamination and lifting of the carpet from the floor.
Delamination is when the top and bottom layers of the carpet separate from each other. It occurs when the glue absorbs too much water, and the top layer begins to pull away. The same process happens when the glue holding the bottom layer of the carpet to the floor softens, and bubbles of air and water begin to form. That forces the carpet away from the floor, which enlarges the bubbles further.
To stop both, SERVPRO technicians utilize the heating element in the extraction wands to carefully dry the carpet layers as they remove the water. Team members start with the lowest setting to prevent softening the glue further and avoid damaging the carpet surface. "Floating," the process of lifting the carpet from the tack strip and injecting warm air can at times help salvage the carpet and padding.
To speed up the process, they also set-up dehumidifiers to draw water from the air and surrounding property like furniture and building material like drywall and floor trim. As they lower the humidity, other specialists install exhaust fans at key positions to draw out the damp, interior air and force it outside.
Every business is different, but SERVPRO of Central Brevard has the experience and training to restore each one to a safe, dry condition. If you need us, call (321) 638-4947 today. We are here to help.
