The Cavalry from SERVPRO is On the Way!

During early April of 2019, Eastern Florida State College of Cocoa Beach suffered from a massive hailstorm. Many cars throughout the campus' parking lot experienced damage from the hail. Additionally, the building's roof ended up becoming damaged and allowed water to pool inside. After a call, our team began to assemble at our warehouse/HQ, and the Cavalry set out to help this education center through a difficult time.

A significant portion of the flood damage occurred in the campus library of the Eastern Florida State College. We brought drove a total of five SERVPRO vehicles to the center of the damage, as we always want to make sure we bring the technology we need when we need it. They used infrared cameras to look for moisture pockets and then created a remediation-map from the areas that needed addressing. With extractors, wet/dry vacuums, squeegees, and other water cleanup technology, our technicians could move onto the next step of our flood damage remediation process.

Removing ceiling tiles and promoting open hot airflow can help with the drying process. The more warm and dry air circulates over the excess moisture, the more likely it is for the water to disperse and evaporate.
